The resource base that has been developed at the IPHQ to cater for its needs and responsibilities in Information Technology are most remarkable for a public sector institution despite the small allocation provided. The IPHQ is now almost fully computer based in its routine operations. There are now more than 70 computer systems functioning in the IPHQ and its various Research and Model Development Programmes.

The Geographical Information System component has been initiated with a small base, added for the purposes and applications in healthcare systems, it is anticipated to InshaAllah grows to meet the needs of the province in this sector specialty.

Three major research and model development programmes are now under progress for initiation namely the Health Management Information System, the Hospital Information System, and the Public Accounting Information System (to coincide with PIFRA in the long run). These concept initiatives will go a long way to assist the government policy to ensure development of the health sector in the province.
